    Micro-Conversions That Predict Revenue

Scroll depth, CTA hover time, pricing page visits — the intermediate signals that predict whether a visitor will convert, and how to build a measurement system around them.

Between "visitor arrives" and "visitor converts" lies a sequence of micro-behaviors that are individually meaningless and collectively predictive. Teams that measure these micro-conversions can diagnose funnel problems weeks before they appear in revenue data.

    The Predictive Micro-Conversions

    • Scroll depth past 60% — correlates with 3.2x higher conversion probability
    • Pricing page visit from homepage — indicates active purchase evaluation
    • CTA hover without click — signals interest blocked by uncertainty
    • Return visit within 7 days — strongest single predictor of eventual conversion
    • FAQ interaction — indicates objection processing, a late-funnel behavior

    Building the Measurement Layer

Implement event tracking for each micro-conversion. Establish baselines over 30 days. Then monitor weekly for deviations. A 15% drop in scroll depth past the value proposition section predicts a conversion rate decline 2–3 weeks before it appears in the primary metric.

The goal is not to optimize for micro-conversions directly — that produces perverse incentives. The goal is to use them as diagnostic signals that tell you where in the funnel the conversion architecture is degrading.
